Principle Two is focussed on the ‘what’ of curriculum development, the subject knowledge and perspectives that are taught. The content of our curricula needs to reflect the diversity of our student cohort in a way that allows them to feel included and valued, enhancing their engagement, belonging and success.
This may entail diversifying the range of topics and perspectives taught, the use of examples or applications of the learning, or reviewing reading lists and other resources to ensure it is representative.
A more diverse curriculum will also ensure that our graduates are best equipped to live and work in a globalised world.
